Congressman Smucker’s Visit Featured in Tracks

Earlier this year Congressman Lloyd Smucker visited our Denver, PA facility to meet with company president, Andy Gehman, and take an in-depth tour of the facility. Congressman Smucker got to take a look at some of the advanced manufacturing capabilities MGS has to offer.

NATM Communications Director, Meghan Ryan, wrote an article about the visit for NATM’s Tracks magazine. See the article below:

Living Healthy: MGS Holds Annual Wellness Fair

Recently MGS’s Wellness Committee held their annual Wellness Fair. This event is held once a year, giving our employees the opportunity to receive a free health screening, performed by nurses from Lancaster General Health (LGH). They were also able to meet with several vendors to learn more about living a healthy lifestyle, physically, mentally, even financially.

Thank you to all the vendors who attended, including:

Mazzitti Sullivan, EAP Services

Fulton Financial Advisors

Lancaster Podiatry

Ephrata Rec Center

Penn State Master Gardener

Green Mountain Cyclery

Capital Blue Cross

And MGS employee Bob Withnosky for the tent camping display!

A special thanks to LGH for once again sending nurses out to perform the health screenings and Brian Irwin of New You: Personal Improvement Partners for his presentation on exercise guidelines.

We would also like to thank the members of the Wellness Committee for all their help in organizing the event. This was the 8th year we held the Wellness Fair and it was well received by many employees.

2017 EUFMC Recap

The 2017 EUFMC show was a huge success for the MGS Utility Fleet Solutions Division. Our team members did a great job preparing and executing the presentation. The team braved the 90° temperatures on Sunday for the booth set up and the rain – soaked tear down on Monday. Special thanks to the MGS engineering and manufacturing team IMG_4231for getting our prototype unit completed in time for the show. The 9,000 lb., telescopic cable trailer received many compliments (even from our competitors).

We had several opportunities to spend time with our customers in the booth and at the networking events. After revealing the plans for UFS future growth, we are happy to report IMG_4232there are many projects that fit our skill set with our customers in the future.

Thanks to Scott Shelley (Outside Sales) and Brooke Stephens (Marketing) for doing the work it takes before, during and after the show to achieve this level of success. Thanks to George Dochat for holding down the fort in PA while we were gone!

We hope to see everyone at the ICUEE show in October!

– Cory McQuate, UFS Division Manager
