Noah Schellenger, Design Engineering Intern

MGS Incorporated recognizes the accomplishments of Hollyn Fertig and Noah Schellenger in completing their summer internships at MGS Incorporated. Hollyn worked on various welding, costing, and coating projects in the Manufacturing Engineering Department and was mentored by Dennis Weitzel. Hollyn will return to Millersville University as a senior to complete his Manufacturing Engineering bachelor’s degree. Noah worked in the Design Engineering department and was mentored by Evan Wallick. Noah will complete his associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Thaddeus Steven College of Technology in the Spring of 2021. Noah participated in several design projects and became more experienced with solid modeling and configuration management over the summer.    Both interns made substantial contributions to MGS while gaining experience and new skills. MGS is confident that these two young men are launching noteworthy careers and wishes them continued success.

Path to Success

Noah and Hollyn are the latest participants in the MGS Internship program which has been continuously growing in sophistication and regional recognition.The internship program and other efforts are a continuation of the company culture established by founder Roland Gehman, and also the teaching and mentoring ideals set forth by past employees E.O. Howell and T.A. Miller, among others.  MGS Incorporated recognizes and values its role in the community, and also the opportunity to promote the vocational success of local students, particularly in the STEM fields. MGS has participated in educational partnerships and recruiting efforts at Penn Technical College, Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology, Millersville University, Lancaster Career and Technology Center, Cocalico School District, NoCo Manufacturing Partners, and the Front Range Community College. MGS plans to continue and expand its participation in aligned educational and training opportunities.

New Sales Team Member Erik Wilburn

MGS Inc is excited to welcome our new Military Products Division Account Manager, Erik Wilburn, to the MGS family.  Erik is Mechanical Engineer and graduate of the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY.  Erik brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team, and we’re looking forward to watching him grow in his new position. Welcome aboard Erik!

MGS Company Update

MGS, Inc. would like to announce and congratulate the following team members:

Ed Barnett received a promotion from Account Manager to Power Products Division Manager. Ed, a seven-year MGS team member and graduate of Indiana University of PA with a degree in Business Administration, has been successfully helping customers in both the OEM and Power Products divisions. Ed’s expertise includes UL 142 fuel tanks, access platforms and mobilizing generators.

Clay Golden received a promotion to Original Equipment Manufacture Division Manager. A graduate of DeVry University with a degree in Technical Management, specializing in Project Management, Clay, a twelve-year MGS team member, has successfully worked within the OEM division helping the substantial growth of this area. When not working Clay is active with the Boy Scouts of America as a troop leader and a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Red Rose Chapter leadership committee.

Cory McQuate has accepted the challenge of Division Manager for the Military Products Division, in addition to his leadership role as Utility Fleet Services Division Manager. Cory, a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, started his twenty three-year career with MGS as a service technician in the Retail Products area. When he is not at work, Cory is very active with his church, the Cocalico Zoning Hearing and Denver Park Boards.

Matt Sweigart, attended Kutztown University, received a promotion to Vice President of Operations. With extensive experience in ERP System integration, Materials & Inventory Management along with leading the MGS Quality Management System Matt is looking forward to overseeing Operations in both MGS locations.

Congratulations Paul Feight

Paul was awarded the Outstanding Young Professional Award at the 2020 NATM Con-ference. This award is presented to an individual under 40 who has been innovative and successful in the trailer manufacturing industry.
Paul is our mechanical design engineer, here at MGS, and has served on the NATM Guidelines committee for the last 3 years. His engineering acumen, attention to detail, accuracy, and research skills have directly improved the quality of NATM’s Guidelines. Although the job is monotonous, the NATM’s Technical Director commented that Paul’s ability to give the same energy at 9am and at 1pm when everyone else faced a post-lunch slump helped to carry the committee forward.Paul Feight Presented Outstanding Young Professional Award 2020

Steve Weinhold Completes 2016 Leadership Lancaster Program

Our very own Steve Weinhold finished the 2016 Leadership Lancaster program recently. The 2016 Core Class graduated last Thursday May 19. Congratulations Steve!

Leadership Lancaster’s purpose is to identify existing and emerging leaders, to prepare them for roles in shaping the future and to entrust them to guide the county in the years ahead.
